June 2007

Hola, one and all. Sorry that it is late, but here is the June calendar of events with descriptions.

June 2007

Graduate Appreciation Night (Sun., 6/3, 7-8p @ the church building) – Everyone is invited to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating Seniors. There will be fingerfoods, gift giving, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to let these grads know how proud you are of all their accomplishments. Please make time in your schedule to be there.

A Good Walk Spoiled: Guys’ Golf Outing (Sat., 6/9, 8a-12n) – Every man is welcome to come enjoy a day of frustration and agony on the golf course, but you must sign up in order to have a spot reserved with the group. We will be playing a local course TBA after sign-ups end. The sign up list is on the youth bulletin board and the very last day to sign up for this event is May 28. Cost will be equal to the course price for 9 holes riding.

Ladies’ Breakfast (Sat. 6/9, 9:30a) – While the guys show their ineptitude on the golf course, the youth ladies—parents and teens—will enjoy a nice Cracker Barrel breakfast. Come join the fun.

Blitz Night (Sun., 6//10, 6:30-8p @ the church building) – More games, more fun, more torture. Be sure to come and join us for this special summer session involving sun, grass, and more water balloons than you can shake a stick at. Come dressed to get soaked (ladies nothing see through), and bring a water gun.

Movie Night (Thur., 6/14, 8-11p @ the Hill’s – So many good movies, so little time. Another late night at Adam and Kelly’s place. And free popcorn to boot—be there.

Father’s Day (Sun., 6/17) – Let the old man choose what’s on the tube tonight. He’ll know you care.

The Best Night of Your Life: Moe’s & Unlimited Laser Tag (Wed., 6/20, meet at 4:45p @ the church building) – Check this out! In addition to eating the best burrito in the free world (I am not sure if the oppressed world has burritos…), the X-Site Amusement Center offers unlimited laser tag from 6-10p on Wednesday nights. For only the cost of dinner and a $5 dollar bill, you can join us for an evening you will never forget. Moe’s and Laser Tag—does it get much better this side of heaven? Chaperones and drivers are needed for this, so , if you are available to help, let me know asap.

LiveAlive…in the park (Sun., 6/24, 6-9p @ the Meridian St. stage in downtown Anderson) – LiveAlive welcomes summer nights by celebrating the Creator under the big blue sky. Everyone is welcome to join the LRCC Youth Ministry as we host a community worship concert featuring Dos Maquinas with some special guests from around the area. This will be fun for the whole family. Help us make a mark on our city by coming out and showing your support.

Jr. High Baseball Trip (Sat., 6/30, meet at 5:30p @ the church building) – The Jr. High will be traveling to Indy to watch the Indianapolis Indians face the Richmond Braves. These are two high-profile minor league teams and the evening promises to include such special joys as some weird in-game special entertainment involving a chicken (no lie…), great ball park hot dogs, and Adam’s “How to score baseball” lecture that will almost be better than the game. Jr. High students and parents are welcome to come. This will also serve as a welcoming event to the rising Jr. High students who are also welcome along with their families. Chaperones and drivers are needed, so, if you are available, please let me know.

Don't forget weekly devotoinal at my place:

Jr. High - Tuesdays, 6:30-7:45p
Sr. High - Thursdays, 6:30-8:00p

See you later.

Adam
